Three people were injured Tuesday night in a two vehicle DUII-involved traffic crash on Highway 199 near Cave Junction. The offending driver was cited by OSP in connection with the injury crash.
On October 7, 2014 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a 1990 Toyota Camry driven by JEFFREY S. LONDINO, age 51, from Cave Junction, was northbound on Highway 199 near milepost 29 when it crossed the centerline as LONDINO lost control. The Toyota slid sideways and its passenger front side collided into the left front side of a southbound 2008 Nissan Armada sport utility vehicle driven by SHELLY BURNS, age 38, from Cave Junction.
LONDINO was transported by air ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. He was later cited by OSP for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Assault in the Third Degree.
SHELLY BURNS and one of her five passengers were transported by ground ambulance to Three Rivers Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The name of the injured passenger is not available.
OSP troopers from the Grants Pass work site are continuing the investigation. Senior Trooper Eric Tholberg is the lead investigator.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Illinois Valley Fire District. The highway was closed about 35 minutes.
