Death Investigation - Cape Foulweather in Lincoln County

Oregon State Police (OSP) is completing the investigation into the death of a 24-year old Newberg man found deceased Wednesday morning from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound near Cape Foulweather's Look-Out Observatory and Gift Shop in Lincoln County.

On October 15, 2014 at approximately 7:00 a.m., OSP and Lincoln County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) were asked by Newberg/Dundee Police Department to be on the lookout for a suicidal man who may have traveled to the Cape Foulweather area. At 7:45 a.m., a LCSO deputy found the man's vehicle at a parking lot and then found MICHAEL A. LYMAN, age 24, from Newberg, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

OSP responded to the scene to conduct the death investigation with the assistance of the Lincoln County Medical Examiner. Other assistance at the scene provided by Depoe Bay Fire District and Oregon State Parks & Recreation personnel.
