A Klamath Falls woman was injured on Saturday afternoon when her westbound vehicle left Highway 140West and went into the Klamath Lake.
On October 18, 2014 at approximately 1:00 p.m., a 2002 Mitsubishi SUV, operated by ASHLEY WILLBURN, age 23, from Klamath Falls, was westbound on Highway 140West near milepost 58. For unknown reasons WILLBURN'S SUV drifted onto the westbound shoulder. WILLBURN overcorrected and her SUV came back onto the road and eventually left the roadway and went into the Klamath Lake. The SUV came to rest partially submerged in the lake.
WILLBURN was transported by ground ambulance to Sky Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. WILLBURN was cited for Careless Driving. Seatbelt usage is still unconfirmed.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Klamath Falls Police Department, Klamath County Sheriff's Office, Klamath County Fire District 1 and ODOT.
