OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Wanted Felon, Seizure of 3/4 Ounce of Methamphetamine - Highway 97 north of Terrebonne

A Bend man was also arrested Monday morning during a traffic stop north of Terrebonne when an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper found he was wanted on a felony warrant and also seized approximately 3/4 of an ounce of crystal methamphetamine.

On October 27, 2014 at approximately 6:21 a.m., an OSP senior trooper stopped a Volkswagen Jetta displaying Oregon license plates on Highway 97 near SW Norris Lane north of Terrebonne for failure to driver with a lane. During the traffic stop the trooper identified the driver as THOMAS VAN HOOSE, age 39, from Bend, and learned he was driving with a suspended license and was wanted on a warrant for Absconding Parole.

VAN HOOSE was arrested for misdemeanor Driving While Suspended and on the warrant. A drug detection canine from Warm Springs Police Department responded to the scene. A subsequent search found approximately 3/4 of an ounce of crystal methamphetamine on VAN HOOSE and concealed inside the vehicle.

VAN HOOSE was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail for the felony warrant, misdemeanor Driving While Suspended, and Unlawful Possession, Delivery and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.
