On March 25, 2016 at about 9:06AM, Linn County Sheriff's Office Deputies attempted to contact two subjects related to an ongoing criminal investigation. The suspects fled in a vehicle and a pursuit ensued.
The vehicle, a Chevy Silverado, led deputies on a pursuit to Saddle Butte Road near Seven Mile lane where it left the roadway into a field. Deputies found the vehicle a short time later and encountered the suspects where an officer involved shooting occurred. The driver, Brian ELLER, age 39, was taken by air ambulance to an area hospital for life threatening injuries. A female passenger in the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
The two deputies involved in the incident were not injured. Per Linn County Senate Bill 111 Officer Involved Shooting protocols, a multi-agency crime team was activated with OSP as the lead investigating agency.
This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available.
