On December 27, 2016, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Oregon State Police Troopers responded to a single-vehicle versus pedestrian fatal crash, that occurred on State Route 126 around milepost three, east of Redmond.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 white Ford F250 pickup was eastbound when it crashed into an adult male, in the eastbound lane of travel. The driver of the Ford was identified as Brianna Reed CERULLO, age 19, from Powell Butte.
The pedestrian was identified as Anthony Marvin MASON, age 22, from Redmond. MASON was wearing dark clothes and was walking in the eastbound lane of travel. MASON was pronounced deceased at the scene.
CERULLO stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
State Route 126 was closed for about three hours, with a detour in place, while the scene was investigated. OSP was assisted by Redmond Police Department, Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Redmond Fire and Rescue and Oregon Department of Transportation. More information will be released as it becomes available, as this is an ongoing investigation.
