On Wednesday, March 7th, at approximately 8:55pm, the Oregon State Police and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 99E near SE Hull Avenue in the city of Gladstone, within Clackamas County.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian, identified as Cory L. PHILPOTT, age 54 of Milwaukie, was in the roadway while walking a dog when was struck by a black 2001 Acura MDX, operated by Brady A. LAUDERDALE, age 32 and passenger, Crystal M. LAUDERDALE, age 37 of Tualatin, while traveling southbound on Highway 99E just south of SE Hull Avenue.
PHILPOTT was transported by ground ambulance to Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU)with critical injuries. PHILPOTT was later pronounced deceased at the OHSU.
Oregon State Police was assisted by Clackamas County SO, Gladstone PD, Clackamas Fire Department and Rescue, Oregon Department of Transportation and multi-agency CRAFT. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours.
