Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to identify two people believed to be suspects in connection with three burglaries within a 3-hour period Monday morning on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus. Three photographs obtained from a surveillance camera at a Rite Aid store in Corvallis where the suspects used one of the victim's debit cards are provided with this release to help OSP in the investigation.
On December 2, 2013, OSP received three separate reports of thefts from inside OSU campus buildings between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Two wallets were stolen out of different offices in Burt Hall and Ballard Extension Hall, and an Apple MacBook Pro laptop computer was stolen out of an office in the Pharmacy Building.
One of the victims reported a suspect used a debit card at a Rite Aid store and Staples store in Corvallis and a Chevron gas station in Albany. One of the items purchased at the Staples store was an Apple laptop power cord for a computer that was carried into the store by the suspect who used the victim's debit card. During the early afternoon hours, a suspect attempted to use debit cards belonging to separate victims at a Home Depot store in Tigard.
The two suspects shown in video surveillance images obtained from the Corvallis' Rite Aid store are described as:
#1 - African American adult male, approximately 6'4" and weighing 195 lbs, clean cut, no facial hair, with dark glasses
#2 - Adult female, unknown race, 5'6" with medium build, and straight black shoulder length hair
Anyone with information to help identify the suspect is asked to OSU Dispatch Center call (541) 737-3010, option 2.
Information can also be sent to crimetips2OSP@state.or.us. Email tips will be monitored by the OSP Criminal Investigations Division, reviewed and then forwarded to the lead investigator(s) for follow-up investigation. Emails should include specific details including the type of case and tip information related to the criminal investigation. Even though tips may be received anonymously, email authors are encouraged to provide contact information for follow-up by the investigator(s), if needed.
Lead investigator is Senior Trooper Huff Meyr.
