Serious Injury Traffic Crash - Highway 101 south of Manzanita in Tillamook County (Photo)

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of Friday afternoon's two vehicle serious injury crash that occurred along Highway 101 south of Manzanita in Tillamook County.

On December 13, 2013 at approximately 1:29 p.m., a 1994 Honda Accord driven by MATTHEW A. BURAK, age 39, from Manzanita, was northbound on Highway 101 near milepost 45 negotiating a right curve when it crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound 2008 Land Rover driven by LYNN Y. POOLE, age 61, from Warrenton.

LYNN POOLE and her passenger/husband WAYNE POOLE, age 61, received minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Tillamook County General Hospital.

BURAK was also transported to Tillamook County General Hospital and then reportedly taken by ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries.

All involved persons were using safety restraints and airbags deployed in both vehicles.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Rockaway Police Department, Manzanita Police Department, Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Rockaway Fire Department, Nehalem Bay Fire Department, Tillamook Ambulance, and ODOT. The highway was completely blocked for about 90 minutes and then open to one lane for four hours.

Trooper Jace Hall is the lead investigator. No enforcement action taken at this time.
