On September 3, 2020 at approximately 8:11 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle collision on Hwy 34 near milepost 3.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Honda motorcycle, operated by Curtis James (63) of Corvallis, was eastbound and turned left to go (north) onto Riverside Dr. He turned into the path of and collided with a westbound Ford F-150 pickup operated by Steven Harder (54) of Corvallis.
James sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The westbound lane remained closed for approximately 2.5 hours.
