On Monday, August 16, 2021 at approximately 12:15 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 30 near milepost 72.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Jeep Wrangler, operated by Carl Schibig (75) of Wapato, WA., was westbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
Schibig sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
OSP was assisted by Clatskanie Fire Department, Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, and ODOT.
