Correction to driver's last name to read "JIMENEZ"

Two California men were arrested last Saturday during an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper's traffic stop along Interstate 5 near Medford after approximately 1.6 pounds of heroin was found concealed inside their vehicle. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.
On March 15, 2014 at approximately 12:05 a.m., an OSP trooper stopped a 2011 Honda Accord displaying California license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 33 for a speed violation. The car's two occupants were identified as driver JOSE NUNEZ JIMENEZ, age 22, from Inglewood, California, and passenger ANTONIO NUNEZ SALCIDO, age 51, from Norwalk, California.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop with the assistance of a drug detection canine led to the discovery of approximately 1.6 pounds of heroin concealed in the trunk area. Estimated value of the seized heroin is $55,000.
Both men were taken into custody and lodged in Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance - Heroin.
