Following a bomb threat phoned into Oregon State University (OSU), all student dorm residence halls were evacuated Thursday evening while officers from Oregon State Police (OSP), Corvallis Police Department and Benton County Sheriff's Office check the dorms for any suspicious objects or packages.

On April 24, 2014 at approximately 7:15 p.m., an unidentified person called OSU Department of Public Safety with the threat but didn't identify a specific residence hall. All residence halls were immediately evacuated while law enforcement officers conduct the search.

Anyone on campus observing suspicious packages or suspicious individuals are asked to immediately call OSU Department of Public Safety at 541-737-7000.

Displaced residents have been instructed to go to either the Valley Library or Memorial Union until advised to return to their residence hall.

An update will be released when further significant information is confirmed or when students are allowed to return to the residence hall.

No other information for release at this time.
