On November 21, 2016 at about 5:15PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 126 and Highway 370 (just west of Prineville).
Preliminary information is a 1997 Plymouth Neon was turning eastbound onto Highway 126 from Highway 370 when it was t-boned by a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander that had been traveling westbound on Highway 126. The driver of the Plymouth was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi, Jessica R BEAN, age 23, of Prineville refused medical attention.
Highway 126 was reduced to two lanes of east/west travel for two and a half hours while the investigation was conducted. The identity of the driver of the Plymouth is withheld pending next of kin notification.
OSP was assisted by the Oregon Department of Transportation, Crook County Sheriff's Office and Prineville Police Department. This is a preliminary release. More information will be released when it becomes available.
