On August 19th, 2017 at about 7:00 PM, an Oregon State Police Trooper stopped a 2008 Honda passenger car for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 near MP 95 northbound, in Douglas County. During the traffic stop, indicators of criminal activity were observed and a search of the vehicle was requested. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 14 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in packages hidden within the vehicle.
The three occupants of the vehicle 27 year old, Uriel BERNARDINO-CANO, 21 year old Joseline HERNANDEZ-AGUILAR, and 19 year old Miriam HERNANDEZ-AGUILAR were lodged at the Douglas County Jail for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available. Miriam and Joseline HERNANDEZ-AGUILAR are from Mexico and BERNARDINO-CANO is from California.
