On August 24, 2017 at approximately 12:00 PM, the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 126W near milepost 23 in Lane County.
The preliminary investigation determined that a 2006 Toyota Camry, operated by 40 year old LYNN, Brandon, was westbound on Hwy 126W and, for an unknown reason, drifted off the roadway. The vehicle continued down an embankment, where it struck a tree. The operator was transported to Riverbend Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. The passenger, 35 year old, LYNN, Tina, was extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency personnel. The couple are from Yuba City, California, but have been living in the Eugene area for the last few months.
The Oregon State Police was assisted by Central Lane Fire, Western Lane Ambulance; Siuslaw Fire and Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
