Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Monday night's fatal traffic crash west of Eugene that resulted in the death of two people on Crow Road south of Highway 126W. The name of the second victim is released in this update.
On August 26, 2013 at approximately 9:20 p.m., a 1988 Toyota Camry driven by SHAYLINN PEARL MANCHESTER, age 21, from Veneta, was westbound on Crow Road near milepost 2 when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound 2003 Chrysler Sebring driven by ZACHARY JACOB MOITOZA, age 29, from Eugene. The crash resulted in the death of both drivers who were the only occupants in both vehicles.
MANCHESTER was using safety restraints.
MOITOZA was not using safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. Trooper Josh Wolcott-Peterson is the lead investigator.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Lane County Sheriff's Office, Eugene Police Department, and Eugene Fire and EMS Department.
