Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Saturday morning's single vehicle fatal traffic crash along Highway 26 about nine miles east of Government Camp that resulted in the death of a Gresham man and serious injuries to two others including the driver.

On April 26, 2014 at approximately 6:00 a.m., a 2004 Ford F250 pickup driven by NATHAN J. FLETCHER, age 35, from SE Portland, was eastbound on Highway 26 near milepost 64 when the driver lost control on icy road conditions. The pickup spun clockwise and traveled off the road, rolling down a short embankment where it came to rest on its top with the passenger side against a tree.

Right front passenger ROBERT GENE BRANDOW, age 57, from Gresham, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim's son, rear seat passenger GENE R. BRANDOW, age 32, from Sandy, was critically injured. GENE R. BRANDOW and FLETCHER, who was also seriously injured, were transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Science University.

All were using safety restraints.

OSP troopers from The Dalles Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Trooper Matt Zistel is the lead investigator.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Wasco County Sheriff's Office, Hoodland Fire Department and ODOT.
