The former head of the Oregon State Police (OSP) Office of Professional Standards pled guilty Thursday, June 19, 2014, and was then sentenced in Linn County Circuit Court on one count of Official Misconduct in the First Degree. He also submitted his resignation to the Department Wednesday, June 18, ending his 15 year career with OSP.
According to the Linn County District Attorney's Office, Jeff Randall Lanz, age 39, was sentenced to:
* 12 months Bench Probation
* 3 Days in Jail (beginning today)
Prior to today's plea and sentencing, Lanz agreed to reimburse the Department of State Police in the amount of $485.19 for repayment in all six incidents. OSP received repayment on Wednesday.
